Safely through the night - illuminated tips for dog walkers

It's November, the clock has long since changed and it gets dark early. As much as we dog owners may not enjoy going out at night, there's no point in complaining. You have to venture out into the cold darkness because the dog still has to do its urgent business. Unfortunately, we humans can't see very well in the dark, which is why it's important for your own safety and that of your beloved four-legged friend to make yourself recognisable. It may be a little inconvenient to adorn your dog with reflectors before every walk in the early hours of the morning or evening, but it is absolutely essential so that you can be seen by drivers and other road users. In this article, you will learn how to make your dog really shine. You too, by the way.

How to make your dog shine

Flashing lights, bright colours and reflectors are the best ways to be seen early in the dark. A complete outfit in neon colours with as many reflective surfaces as possible would probably be the perfect solution. However, not everyone wants to stomp through the streets like a walking Christmas tree, let alone be caught by the fashion police.

Fortunately, there are simple aids that you can easily put on over your normal winter jacket and still stand out. Tada, reflective waistcoats are the simplest solution. You can simply put the waistcoats on yourself and your dog, and off you go safely through the dark in a partner look.

In addition to simple reflective waistcoats, there are also all kinds of luminous accessories such as LED wristbands, headlamps, luminous collars, leads and tags. You can let off steam to your heart's content and light up the Christmas decorations.

Watch out in the forest

You need to be careful and make yourself visible not only in road traffic, but also on unlit cycle paths and footpaths. Special care should also be taken when walking in the woods, especially during the hunting season. In most forests, dogs must be kept on a lead anyway and hikers and walkers are advised not to leave the paths. However, if the dog does escape, you should make sure you have turned the dog into a small flare. A high-visibility waistcoat for yourself and your faithful four-legged friend is essential to ensure that such stories end well and no-one suffers any major damage.

Once you have equipped your pet with a high-visibility waistcoat and other flashing accessories, you can walk safely through the night. True to the children's song - I'll walk with my lantern and my lantern will walk with me.

As we all know, exercise and the cold make you hungry. So what could be better than coming home after a long walk and having a good snack? In keeping with winter, we recommend our delicious wet dog food with chicken, black salsify and amaranth. Like our entire range, this food pampers with the best organic quality and is free from colourings and preservatives.

The meat content of the menu comes from organic chicken. In addition to muscle meat, the neck and carcass (the rib cage) are used, which are very rich in minerals and natural vitamin B. Carrots and salsify provide iron, potassium and vitamins. They are also rich in fibre, which is good for digestion. The vegetables give the food an attractive appearance and a pleasant odour for animals and humans. High-quality linseed oil provides polyunsaturated omega-3 and 6 fatty acids. The chia seeds and amaranth used are classified as pseudo-cereals. This means that the product is grain-free.

Finally, I hope you enjoy walking your dog, even in the darker months of the year. After all, with the right attitude and equipment, everything is half as wild. Don't forget the right paw care afterwards!
